Why I made the Leo Board
I I recently finished my internship in General Surgery and am now in my 3rd year of neurosurgery training in Boston, MA. I have a passion for teaching and inspiring medical students to fall in love with surgery.
I invented the first version of this board for one of my medical students who after a case asked me how to improve his tying skills. I went home and designed a CAD model then 3D printed about 5 different versions before arriving at this one! They are requested by my co-residents in orthopedics, general surgery, the ED, OB/Gyn, and of course our amazing medical students! I called it the Leo board not because "Leo" is my middle name (well partly haha) but rather because Leo means strong, courageous, cunning, and creative which are all the qualities of a great surgeon.
